Great housekeeping isn't just about clean rooms - it's about creating an environment where guests feel welcomed, comfortable, and confident in their stay.We're Looking for Someone Who:Takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentationPays close attention to detailHas basic knowledge of cleaning principles and cleaning productsCan safely operate standard housekeeping and cleaning equipmentIs dependable and maintains a friendly, courteous demeanorCan understand and follow verbal and written instructionsIs comfortable performing physical work throughout an eight-hour shiftCan work independently and as part of a teamTakes responsibility for hotel equipment, keys, supplies, and propertyImmediately reports unsafe conditions, maintenance concerns, and damaged propertyWhat You'll DoResponsibilities include:Clean and prepare guest rooms, hallways, public areas, and other assigned hotel spacesClean and sanitize bathrooms, showers, tubs, toilets, sinks, mirrors, floors, and other surfacesStrip and remake beds using fresh linens and inspect beds and surrounding areas for cleanlinessDust, polish, vacuum, and clean furniture, fixtures, floors, windows, doors, walls, and other surfacesReplace towels, toiletries, guest amenities, literature, hangers, blankets, pillows, and other suppliesSet up and maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked housekeeping carts and storage areasInspect guest room locks, lights, televisions, faucets, and other equipment and report maintenance concernsSecure and maintain custody of keys, equipment, supplies, and hotel propertyAssist with laundry by sorting soiled linens, operating commercial laundry equipment, folding clean linens, and distributing them to housekeeping areasClean patio and balcony areas as assignedWork with other hotel departments to support overall hotel operationsMaintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanorFollow all housekeeping, safety, sanitation, and security proceduresPerform other duties as assignedThe Ideal Candidate Is:Familiar with basic cleaning principles, products, and housekeeping equipmentAble to identify dirt, dust, debris, and cleanliness concernsAble to read and follow written and verbal instructionsComfortable with frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, kneeling, and walkingAble to safely maneuver a fully loaded housekeeping cartComfortable working with arms raised overhead as neededNo previous experience requiredPossesses at least ninth-grade reading and writing skillsSchedule & Physical RequirementsEight-hour shifts; weekends and holidays may be requiredAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. and regularly push/pull equipment and a fully loaded housekeeping cartAbility to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and perform strenuous physical activity throughout the shiftAbility to operate vacuums, floor buffers, carpet-cleaning equipment, ladders/step stools, cleaning carts, and commercial laundry equipmentExposure to cleaning products and chemicals used in housekeeping operationsWhy You'll Love Working HereAt Reikart House, you'll be more than just the person who cleans a room.
