POSITION SUMMARY:
The Housekeeping room attendant is responsible for cleaning all assigned areas in accordance with Big Cedar Lodge procedures and standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides professional, friendly service to all guests.
Cleans corridors, lobbies, stairways, and lounges as well as guest rooms.
Organizes work schedule from the room status list, arrivals, and departures.
Distributes linen, towels and room supplies using wheeled carts or by hand and organize and restock cart at the end of the shift.
Restocks room supplies such as drinking glasses, soaps, shampoos, writing supplies and replaces laundry bags and slips.
Replaces dirty linens with clean items and stores all dirty laundry in line with company policy.
Inspects and turns mattresses regularly, checks all appliances in rooms are in working order and realign furniture and amenities according to prescribed layout.
Responds to guest queries and requests, responds to calls for housekeeping problems such as spills, broken glasses, deliver any requested housekeeping items to guest rooms and remove room service items
Ensures confidentiality and security of guest rooms and follow all company safety and security procedures.
Observe and report damage of hotel property report any maintenance issues or safety hazards

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Years of experience: 1 to 3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
Basic knowledge of housekeeping department duties
Familiarity with computer software word processing, database and spreadsheet (especially Excel) is essential.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions,
short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills and Abilities: The ability to work well with a team, to prioritize, a sense of urgency and a real concern for guest satisfaction. Must be detailed oriented. Need strong clerical, organizational and communication skills.
