The Rooms Inspector is responsible for ensuring all guest rooms, suites, and assigned public areas meet the property’s standards for cleanliness, presentation, maintenance, and guest readiness. This position works closely with Housekeeping, Front Office, and Engineering to identify and resolve deficiencies before rooms are released for sale.
Essential Responsibilities
Inspect guest rooms, suites, and designated public areas after cleaning.
Verify rooms meet established standards for cleanliness, appearance, amenities, and overall presentation.
Identify maintenance issues and communicate them promptly to Engineering and Housekeeping leadership.
Ensure all required guest supplies and amenities are properly stocked and positioned.
Confirm room setups are consistent with property standards and brand presentation.
Reinspect rooms after deficiencies have been corrected.
Maintain accurate records of room inspections and outstanding issues.
Communicate room status updates to the Front Office and Housekeeping teams.
Assist with prioritizing rooms based on arrivals, VIPs, early check-ins, and operational needs.
Identify recurring cleanliness, maintenance, or presentation issues and communicate trends to management.
Support Housekeeping leadership with quality-control checks and training feedback.
Inspect vacant rooms periodically to ensure standards are maintained.
Report lost and found items according to property procedures.
Follow all safety, security, sanitation, and hotel policies.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Guest Experience
The Rooms Inspector plays a critical role in protecting the guest experience by ensuring that every room is clean, comfortable, functional, and ready before a guest arrives. The position should proactively identify issues that could negatively impact guest satisfaction and ensure they are resolved promptly.
Qualifications
Previous hotel housekeeping, rooms inspection, or hospitality experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail and high standards for cleanliness and presentation.
Ability to identify maintenance and room-condition issues.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments.
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced hotel environment.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and move throughout the property for extended periods.
Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as required by business needs.
