Rotational Insurance Internship (Paid - Deer Park, IL - Summer 2027)

If so, you will want to explore this internship opportunity!Summary:This internship will allow you to experience a unique hands-on internship opportunity where you will rotate through several departments based on different lines of insurance, sales and more! Exposure will include but not be limited to employee benefits, benefit administration technology, business insurance, personal insurance, financial services/401k, and sales. This role will provide opportunities for both collaborative and independent work. As part of our internship program, you will also work across various departments on team projects and cross-functional intern initiatives.The Plexus Groupe summer internship program will run from June 1st through July 30th, 2027. Each summer, Plexus partners with the Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers (CIAB) on their scholarship program, allowing Plexus to make an intern nomination to win a monetary award towards their college education. 

Essential Functions:

• Gain best-practices for business operations and working within the insurance industry
• Participate in department meetings and work with multiple Plexus teams to address client needs or contribute towards current projects
• Collaborate on solving problems using an analytic approach
• Utilize various forms of technology to generate internal resources and external deliverables
• Successfully complete an insurance-based curriculum to learn the foundation of the various forms of insurance
• Observe client meetings and sales activities
• Be exposed to and understand the full sales cycle
• Develop written and verbal presentation skills
• Be an active associate of The Plexus Groupe, participating in various company events and philanthropy initiatives

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program is required. Majors in insurance, finance, business administration or sales are preferred
• Candidates should be entering their junior or senior year of college
• Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher
• Be a self-starter
• Possesses analytical / problem-solving skills
• Learns quickly
• Enjoys teamwork and cultivating relationships
• Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Has work experience demonstrating strong technical and/or client service skills
• Has a passion for solving problems and sharing solutions to exceed standards
• Possesses excellent Microsoft Office Excel skills, along with a proficiency and intermediate knowledge of other Microsoft Office programs.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to perform primarily sedentary work, frequently using a computer (visual acuity, fine motor skills) and telephone (talking/hearing)
• Read, write, and communicate eectively
• Lift and carry up to 15 lbs
• Ability to drive and handle the physical demands of travel

Position Type and Expected Work Hours:This is a full-time position during the specified internship dates. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00 pm, with some flexibility in hours. Compensation:This is a non-exempt position and the hourly rate is $20.00 per hour.
