Shift: 2nd shift 3:30pm to 2:00am

Adecco is seeking dependable, safety-focused Rough Mill / Rough End Operators to join the manufacturing team in Hildebran, NC!

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in woodworking, machine operation, lumber processing, or manufacturing who enjoy hands-on work in a fast-paced production environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience operating industrial machinery, reading measurements, handling raw materials, and maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate rough mill equipment, including saws, planers, moulders, ripsaws, and other woodworking machinery to process lumber according to specifications.

• Set up, monitor, and adjust machinery to maintain accurate dimensions and consistent product quality.

• Cut, shape, and prepare rough lumber and components according to production requirements.

• Read and follow work instructions, specifications, and production standards.

• Use tape measures, calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools to verify accuracy.

• Safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment to move, stage, and transport lumber and finished components.

• Inspect materials and finished products for defects or quality concerns.

• Identify equipment issues and assist with troubleshooting and corrective actions.

• Maintain accurate material identification, inventory records, and production documentation.

• Meet established production goals while following safety procedures and lean manufacturing practices.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

• Cross-train in other rough mill operations and assist in additional production areas as needed.

 

Qualifications

Required:

• Previous forklift operating experience is required.

• Experience in manufacturing, machine operation, woodworking, lumber processing, or a related production environment preferred.

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent demonstrated work experience.

• Ability to read and interpret basic measurements, work instructions, and specifications.

• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, counting, and measurements.

• Ability to safely operate machinery and use measuring tools.

• Strong attention to detail, quality, and workplace safety.

• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Willingness to cross-train and perform multiple production functions.

 

Preferred Experience:

• Rough mill or sawmill operations

• Industrial woodworking machinery

• Lumber cutting, milling, and processing

• Machine setup and adjustments

• Precision measuring tools and dimensional tolerances

• Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement

 

Physical Requirements

• Regularly lift to 10 lbs.

• Frequently lift to 25 lbs.

• Occasionally lift to 50 lbs.

• Ability to perform physical manufacturing duties safely throughout the workday.

Pay Details: $19.26 per hour
