Position Overview
As a 2nd Shift Route Driver, you will be the backbone of our evening logistics, ensuring that products are safely and efficiently delivered across our regional routes. This position requires a high level of independence, as you will spend most of your shift operating solo, managing your route, and handling warehouse equipment.
Shift: 2nd Shift (Evening) 2pm-10pm
Status: Full-Time
Contingency: Job offer is contingent upon successfully passing a company fleet insurance background check.
Route includes: Stops in both the Milwaukee are and Northern to Central Illinois
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Precision Driving & Routing: Safely operate a company box truck to complete scheduled regional deliveries, navigating efficiently in varying evening conditions.
Independent Route Management: Utilize specialized route software to track deliveries, update shipment statuses, and optimize your nightly workflow.
Material Handling: Load and unload HVAC/R equipment and parts using a forklift, pallet jack, and manual lifting.
Solo Problem-Solving: Act as the frontline decision-maker when encountering route delays, delivery discrepancies, or logistical challenges during off-hours, focusing on permanent process-driven solutions.
Adaptability: Maintain flexibility to handle evolving job duties, schedule adjustments, and changing operational needs.

Qualifications & Skills
Requirements:
Must possess a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (must pass fleet insurance screening).
Proven experience safely operating a Box Truck.
Demonstrated experience operating warehouse equipment, specifically a forklift and pallet jack.
Ability to quickly learn and comfortably navigate route software on mobile devices/tablets.
Certifications:
Hazmat Certification is a plus, but not required. Johnstone Supply will cover the cost and pay for the right candidate to obtain their Hazmat endorsement.
