Job Requirements

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy or related healthcare field

Certifications Requirements:

  • GA Respiratory License
  • NBRC (RRT or CRT)
  • BLS certification

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
  • Experience working independently in rural hospital settings
  • Experience with intubations and assisting with intubations

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently and perform critical thinking
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills
  • Physical stamina to handle the demands of the work

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory therapy care and appropriate interventions independently within the rural hospital setting.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient-specific respiratory care plans.
  • Manage ventilator settings, assist with intubations, and support airway management as needed.
  • Monitor patient responses to therapy, adjust treatments accordingly, and document outcomes.
  • Respond promptly to emergency codes, performing CPR and other critical procedures for infants to adults.
  • Apply critical thinking skills to perform assessments and make informed decisions in a solo work environment.
