RRT - Respiratory Therapist-Hosp

Contract

In-Office | Tucson, AZ, United States


36hrs, Day shifts, 13wks, Facility Level I Trauma Center, 600+ beds; must have Adult Critical Care experience; PICU/NICU experience preferred but not required. May float to South Campus as needed; Level III trauma, 10 minutes away. Must have 2 years of recent experience as an RRT and previous travel experience to be considered.


Responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory therapy treatments per physician orders and protocols.

  • Assess patient needs and document treatment progress in the medical record.

  • Monitor and adjust ventilator settings and weaning plans as indicated.

  • Identify and escalate safety concerns and deviations from care standards.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation for regulatory and billing purposes.

  • Meet daily productivity targets and contribute to pipeline-based planning for outcomes.

  • Maintain and calibrate respiratory equipment and ensure device readiness.

  • Educate patients and families on therapies, procedures, and home-care expectations.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance care processes.

  • Demonstrate continuous professional development through certifications and training.


Experience/Qualifications

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license with active state credentials.

  • Experience with ventilator management, weaning, and mode adjustments per protocol.

  • Proven ability to document treatment progress and regulatory/billing notes accurately.

  • Reliable adherence to safety standards and proactive escalation of deviations.

  • Strong patient/family education skills on therapies and home-care expectations.

  • Demonstrated collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes.

  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment with device readiness checks.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and certifications beyond entry level.

  • Ability to meet daily productivity targets and contribute to pipeline-based planning.

  • Participation in quality improvement initiatives and data-driven process improvements.
