Job Description
Aircraft Painter II will prepare, paint, and detail aircraft with minimal supervision while following company quality standards, safety procedures, and FAA requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, paint, and detail aircraft to a high-quality standard.
- Perform exterior aircraft paint detailing.
- Sand, polish, spray, and perform spot-ins.
- Use dual-action sanders, paint sprayers, hydraulic lift platforms, and other painting equipment.
- Work with sealants, paint strippers, corrosion-preventive chemicals, and PPE.
- Follow FAA paperwork, inspection, quality, and company procedures.
- Maintain tools and painting equipment.
- Track materials, parts demands, squawks, and work sign-offs.
- Assist with aircraft movement inside hangars.
- Identify unsafe conditions and follow all safety procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of experience in related paint processes.
- Aircraft/aerospace industry experience strongly preferred.
- Strong experience with exterior aircraft painting and detailing.
- Proficient in sanding, polishing, spraying, and spot-ins.
- Knowledge of paint products/processes including lacquers, enamels, epoxies, urethanes, and acrylics.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Computer literacy required.
- Must be able to pass a Pulmonary Function Test for respirator certification.
- Must be able to climb ladders/stairs, work in confined areas, and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Must be willing to work different shifts if required after becoming established.
