Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

• Perform high-quality repairs and finishing work on aircraft furniture, both in-shop and onboard aircraft

• Apply finishes using spray equipment and manual/mechanical methods

• Interpret material specifications to ensure compliance with design and engineering requirements

• Coordinate with design teams to meet customer-approved finish standards

• Follow and promote safety protocols, 5S standards, housekeeping, and aircraft interior protection practices

• Mentor, train, and support junior technicians

• Support process improvement initiatives focused on safety, cost reduction, cycle time, and efficiency using Lean Six Sigma principles

• Use material tracking systems to manage parts demand, track discrepancies (“squawks”), and complete work sign-offs

• Assist in meeting OGSM objectives and initiatives

• Step into lead responsibilities when required and help coordinate project execution

• Participate in safety audits, 5S audits, and shop equipment maintenance activities

• Contribute improvement ideas through continuous improvement programs (e.g., Your Ideas at Work)

• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required

• 4+ years of experience in wood finishing processes

• Advanced knowledge of cabinet finishing techniques, materials, and products

• Experience in aerospace industry preferred

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English

• Must be computer literate

• Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined spaces, lift up to 40 lbs, and work any shift

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
