Job Description

Job Title: Painter Date: 6/30/26

Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor

Summary

Research Tool & Die Works powered by Fairbanks Morse Defense is seeking a painter to join our team. The painter will assist with loading and unloading parts on the powder coating line and packaging parts for delivery.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Transport products to and from the powder coat line in a safe and timely manner
  • Load and unload products from trailers, trucks, and shelves and store the products in proper places in the warehouse or facility safely using a forklift
  • Move and load hazardous and non-hazardous wastes under the direction of the supervisor
  • Identify and report faulty equipment, damages, and safety concerns to the supervisor immediately
  • Maintain an inventory of painted parts per job and report all parts that are not up to company standards to the supervisor
  • Perform Daily housekeeping of the powder coat line including, sweeping, collecting, and disposing of pallets, and other cleaning duties assigned by the supervisor
  • Engage in general labor activities such as moving parts from different bins, hanging parts on the powder coat line, and other duties assigned by the supervisor
  • Adhere to company malpractice, safety, and ethics policies
  • Perform tasks related to the powder coat process, including paint application, filter changing, spray gun cleaning, loading and unloading hoppers, and other associated duties.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) on booths, which may involve tasks like replacing the fresh water tank, changing spray nozzles, cleaning and replacing screens, installing plugs, and placing cap parts on specific items before the powder coat process.
  • Maintain a log of paint usage.

  • Must pass a physical prior to hiring. Will also require passing annual physicals.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

This position includes access or potential access to export-controlled data. Therefore, you will need to qualify as a U.S. Person, which is defined as a U.S. Citizen, a U.S. Permanent Resident or a political asylee in compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Acceptable proof of this status includes a US Passport, Permanent Resident Card, US birth Certificate, or Naturalization Certificate. Maintenance, including renewal, of licensing authorization is a condition of employment. Government authorization may be a suitable alternative after review on a case-by-case basis.

This is a full-time 40-hour-per-week position; however, overtime will be scheduled as needed. The standard shift is from 7:00 AM-4:15 PM Monday-Thursday and 7:00 AM-12:00 PM on Friday.
