Position SummaryWe have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Runner. In this role, the successful candidate provides safe, efficient and customer-friendly transports for patients. Transports will be performed via bed, stretcher, or wheelchair to all areas within the Medical Center.Job ResponsibilitiesPerform other duties as assigned.Transport patients using excellent customer service skills.Communicate to the patient regarding destination, needs for blankets, bumps, elevator delays, etc.Wear assigned patient transport uniform in a neat and presentable fashion. ID card is above the waist and clearly visible at all times.During low volume, check the system periodically to see if calls are pending. Do not reject jobs, use delay flags as required and complete the job at destination.Document all patient transport data via the transporter log sheet. This includes checking off dbl ID, Ticket to Ride, and SSSI.During transport, appropriately perform SSSI (equipment) and double identification.Minimum QualificationsMust be able to speak, read, understand, and follow simple directions in English.Some motor dexterity is required.Good interpersonal skills are necessary.Excellent customer service skills.Preferred QualificationsHigh School Diploma or the equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.Equal Opportunity EmployerNYU Langone Health is an equal opportunity employer and committed to inclusion in all aspects of recruiting and employment.
