Summary

The Plant Operator is vital in the overall operation of the plant and facilities. Plant Operators perform the tasks necessary for the day-to-day operations and production of products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Opens and closes valves for product transfers • Performs general preventative maintenance of pump and valve systems • Operates equipment • Inspects tanks periodically • Troubleshoots mechanics of plant systems • Weighs trucks pre- and post-loading • Loads emulsion trucks • General Labor • Follows all safety policies and practices • All other duties as assigned

Skills and Education Required

High School diploma or GED equivalent Solid math and reading skills and the ability to understand technical manuals Two 2 years productionmaintenance experience OR oil and gas industry experience OR completion of mechanicalindustrial trade school program Aptitude for learning new tasks and skills Preferred Asphalt materiel handling Proficient computer skills

Job Requirements

Ability to work in a team environment with laboratory and sales personnel as well as the ability to work independently without close supervision Must be able to work overtime as needed Willingness to be flexible in scheduling Ability to safely lift at least 50 pounds occasionally enter confined spaces tolerate scents common to fuels and asphalt operation Ability to perform work which requires frequent and regular movement of wrists hands andor fingers Ability to perform work which requires frequent and regular walking and standing Ability to see hear talk and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity

Work Environment

This position requires its responsibilities to be performed in an asphalt emulsions manufacturing plant. Plants are outdoors and may require that work be done in adverse weather conditions. Work conditions may involve exposure to hot materials chemicals fumes dust odors gases and other substances used in a construction environment.
