We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and dependable Registered Veterinary Technician to join our veterinary team. The ideal candidate is confident in clinical nursing, communicates well with clients and coworkers, and is committed to providing excellent patient care in a supportive, professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to hospitalized and outpatient animals
Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, procedures, and surgery
Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, laboratory testing, and diagnostic sample collection
Obtain digital radiographs and assist with other diagnostic procedures
Induce, monitor, and recover patients from anesthesia in accordance with hospital protocols
Administer medications, vaccines, fluids, and prescribed treatments
Perform dental prophylaxis and assist with dental procedures, as permitted by California law
Maintain accurate and timely patient medical records
Educate clients regarding medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and discharge instructions
Maintain treatment areas, equipment, controlled-drug logs, and medical supplies
Follow all infection-control, workplace-safety, and patient-handling protocols
Work collaboratively with veterinarians, veterinary assistants, receptionists, and management
Help maintain an organized, efficient, respectful, and positive workplace
Qualifications
Current California Registered Veterinary Technician license in good standing
Previous experience in a veterinary hospital or clinical setting preferred
Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills
Knowledge of anesthesia monitoring, pharmacy procedures, laboratory testing, radiology, and patient care
Ability to prioritize responsibilities and remain composed in a fast-paced environment
Ability to safely restrain and handle dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments
Commitment to compassionate care, teamwork, professionalism, and excellent client service
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds and remain standing for extended periods
