Job Title: Sacraments Coordinator Parish: St. Mary Catholic Church Location: Delaware, Ohio Reports To: Pastor FLSA Status: Exempt (Salaried) – Full-Time Salary Range: 39k - 46k Position Summary The Sacraments Coordinator oversees sacramental preparation, coordination, and parish records management. This role fosters discipleship, faith formation, and engagement among youth and their families, coordinates the preparation and celebration of key sacraments, and ensures accurate, compliant sacramental recordkeeping. Role will also support day to day parish operations, working with Office Manager on parishioner and ministry support, Pastor support and liturgical support. The Sacraments Coordinator works collaboratively with the Pastor, parish staff, volunteers, and families to advance the mission of St. Mary Catholic Church in alignment with diocesan guidelines. Essential Job Responsibilities Sacramental Preparation & Coordination Oversee sacramental preparation programs for: Infant Baptism First Reconciliation - working with CGS Coordinator First Holy Communion - working with CGS Coordinator Youth Confirmation - working with CGS Coordinator Marriage Preparation Coordinate preparation programs, classes, retreats, rehearsals, and liturgies for sacraments in collaboration with the Pastor and Liturgy team, especially Director of Evangelization, CGS Coordinator and Youth Ministry leader as required. Assist with preparation for the Sacrament of Marriage as needed. Serve as a liaison between the parish and the Diocese of Columbus on matters related to youth ministry and sacramental formation. Consult with the Pastor on curriculum, resources, and program design for sacramental preparation. Records Management & Administration Maintain accurate and up-to-date sacramental records, registers, attendance files, and certificates in compliance with diocesan policies. Manage parish databases (e.g., Parish Data System or similar) and communication tools. Ensure all Safe Environment / Protecting God’s Children compliance requirements are met for volunteers, catechists, and program participants in partnership with the Safe Environment Coordinator. Handle day-to-day ministry operations, scheduling, communications, report preparation, and correspondence. Perform additional administrative duties as assigned, including support for parishioner inquiries, supplies, and office operations. Qualifications and Requirements Faith & Character Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with a vibrant faith life and a strong witness to Church teachings. Active member of a Catholic parish with a passion for parish sacramental ministry. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree required, 3–5 years of relevant experience in an office environment, customer service, data management and/or other related fields Skills & Competencies Strong interpersonal, teaching, public speaking, and relational skills with the ability to connect with youth, parents, and adults. Excellent organizational and project management abilities Proficient in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and comfortable with parish database systems. Experience with volunteer recruitment, training, and supervision. Solid understanding of Catholic sacramental theology Attention to detail and ability to multi task Additional Requirements Successful completion of BCI&I background check and Protecting God’s Children (VIRTUS) training prior to employment. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Willingness to participate in ongoing professional and faith formation. Physical & Work Environment This is a Light Work position requiring the ability to move about the parish campus, set up for events, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
