DEFINITION
Under general supervision, assists in planning, organizing, coordinating, and implementing the instructional and non-instructional services and activities provided under the City of Mesquite programs; and performs related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The degree of knowledge and ability as outlined under this section is that which is necessary to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of this position.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Experience, Education, and Training:
Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience which provides the individual with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience: Experience working with children preferred.
Education: Must be at least 16 years old.
Training: Training may be required such as:
License or Certificate:
Must possess, at the time of employment and continuously throughout employment, a valid Nevada or "border state" Class "C" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483.
Possession of, or the ability to obtain, the following certifications within three (3) months of hire:
American Red Cross Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Automated External Defibrillator (AED) OR equivalent.
All required licenses and certificates, as mandated by state and federal laws, or as required herein, must be obtained and potentially maintained at the incumbent's expense.

Work is performed under the following conditions:
Physical Requirements:
Light work (some outside exposure.)
Employee is subject to high levels of public contact and frequent interruptions. Duties require sufficient mobility and sustained posture in a seated position, standing, walking, talking, hearing frequent, frequent bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, climbing, vision to read and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Must be able to carry/lift/push or pull loads of up to 25 lbs.
Site and Work Assignment:
The supervisor and Coordinator will consider site preference for program assignments, however, please be advised that staff will be placed according to the needs of the Athletics and Leisure Services Department. It is not guaranteed that you will remain at one location for the duration of your employment.
