We're Hiring!!! Safety Ambassador - Bancroft School Mt. Laurel

Location: Mt. Laurel, NJ

Hours: 8a-4p, M-F

Pay Rate: $24.90-$26.65

Position Summary:

The role of a DSP with focus on School Safety that encompasses maintaining a safe and secureenvironment for students, faculty, and staff by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel. Thisposition requires a vigilant individual who can effectively respond to incidents, enforce school policies, andensure the safety of all individuals on campus. Through their presence and actions, School SafetySpecialists play an integral part in creating an atmosphere conducive to education and personal growth,where learning can flourish without the concern of safety being compromised. Their responsibilities alsoinclude managing access to the school buildings, monitoring surveillance equipment, and assisting withsafety drills, all aimed at fostering a secure educational setting.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol school grounds to ensure the safety and security of students, staff, and property, checking forsigns of unauthorized entry or potential safety hazards.
  • Monitor entry and exit points during school hours to prevent unauthorized access, ensuring that allvisitors sign in and wear identification badges
  • Respond to emergencies and incidents within the school, providing first aid or assistance untilemergency services arrive
  • Enforce school policies and rules, addressing violations and taking appropriate disciplinary action incoordination with school administratio
  • Supervise students during lunch breaks, recess, and transition periods between classes to preventbullying and ensure a safe environment.
  • Inspect and maintain security equipment, such as metal detectors, surveillance cameras, andcommunication devices, ensuring they are operational.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Two years of previous security/ safety work required
  • Must have a highschool diploma or equivalent
  • experience in special education needs, desired but not required;
  • Bachelors/Associate in Criminal Justice, coursework in Public Safety, Psychology, or Conflict Resolution, a plus but not required
