Mission & CultureSafety is our core value: The Safety & Training Manager champions a strong safety culture, influencing behaviors and decisions at all levels.Leadership & Inclusion: Promote a diverse, respectful, and healthy workplace through accountability, clear communication, trust, and professional growth.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and monitor safety policies, programs, and protocols for personnel, vehicles, and facilities.Lead all safety and compliance training: new hire orientation, defensive driving, CPR/First Aid, drug & alcohol awareness, equipment operation, emergency response.Manage accident/incident investigations, root cause analysis, claims support, and corrective actions.Supervise the performance of supervisors, trainers, and administrative staff; coach and reinforce safety/customer service expectations.Conduct on‑road driver evaluations, monitor performance, analyze safety data and trends to drive improvements.Coordinate fleet and facility safety inspections, equipment maintenance, and safety equipment compliance (including SDS documentation).Administer drug & alcohol programs, manage worker's compensation processes, and ensure adherence to regulations (DOT, FTA, OSHA, ADA, etc.).Qualifications & SkillsBachelor's degree (Education, Safety Management, or related field) or equivalent experience.5–10 years progressive experience in safety management, preferably in transit or fleet operations, with supervisory responsibilities.In‑depth knowledge of transit safety systems, policies, and regulations (DOT, FTA, OSHA, ADA, NLRA, FLSA, etc.).Demonstrated experience in driver training and certified in CPR/First Aid and drug & alcohol awareness programs.Strong analytical ability to evaluate accident trends and implement preventative measures.Excellent oral and written communication, leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook; PowerPoint a plus) and safety management systems.Compensation & BenefitsEstimated salary range: 80K‑90KComprehensive benefits include: Medical, dental, vision insurance; 401(k); paid holidays and vacation; tuition assistance; wellness programs; life/disability coverage; pre‑paid legal; and more.Location & ReportingOffice Address: 1450 Newtown Pike Lexington, KYReports to the General Manager, with a high degree of cross‑functional collaboration across operations, maintenance, HR, and external agencies.Skills & Personal AttributesConscientious and accountable; leads by example using proper PPE.Independent problem‑solver, capable of judgment and initiative.High attention to detail in record‑keeping and regulatory compliance.Approachable, trustworthy, and skilled at implementing behavioral‑based safety strategies.Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per yearWork Location: In person#J-18808-Ljbffr
