SAFETY COMPLIANCE COORDINATOR
Reports to: Vice President of Human Resources
POSITION CLASSIFICATION:
This position is an hourly non-exempt position eligible for overtime pay.

POSITION: Safety Compliance Coordinator
EDUCATION: A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, but not required, at least six (6) years of experience in an electric utility organization. Previous safety experience in an electrical environment a plus. The selected individual must be willing to obtain a TVPPA or equivalent safety program certification within 36 months of starting the position. A commitment to ongoing educational development is essential for this role.
KNOWLEDGE: Comprehensive understanding of safe work practices, particularly in an electric utility environment, is essential. Must have thorough knowledge of the cooperative electric industry and hazards associated with operation, maintenance, construction of electric utility lines., general warehouse/mechanic safety issues and normal office environment safety issues is required. Knowledge of training programs and resources for training is required.
Familiar with the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), National Electrical Code (NEC), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and other safety related standards. Ability to exercise independent judgement within the parameters of the Cooperative's policy/procedures. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
ABILITIES & SKILLS: Should be able to organize, plan, direct, and control all aspects of the safety and training programs. Must be able to use a personal computer efficiently and be able to develop skills in various software programs. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals and related laws. Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence, as necessary. Must be able to speak or communicate effectively with employees and members in person, through written forms or on the telephone is essential for this position.
Must have the earned the trust and respect of other employees of Warren RECC Corporative through the demonstration of following Warren RECC's safety rules and programs consistently.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to do outside work in all kinds of weather. Overnight travel may be required. Flexibility to work irregular work hours when business conditions require.
OTHER: Must have a valid driver's license. Certified in First Aid and CPR or willing to obtain Certification within 18 months of assignment into the position.
