    Job Description

    Job Summary: The Safety Coordinator will provide support to the Training Director in the coordination and execution of daily requirements to provide a safe workplace at our area project sites.  
     
    Job Duties and Responsibilities: 
    • Assist in providing safety orientation to new hire employees 
    • Maintain records of new Hire safety training 
    • Perform safety audits and inspections as directed by the Training Director or customer representatives 
    • Coordinating and conducting audits, inspections, and training sessions 
    • Assist in the development, implementation, and ongoing review of EH&S policies and procedures 
    • Coordinate all aspects of injury and illness investigations and reporting, including OSHA recordkeeping 
    • Maintain communication with management to understand trends in claims and what can be done to mitigate those safety risks 
    • Coordinate and accompany customer and outside agency representatives during safety inspections 
     
    Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 
    • Knowledge of industrial safety regulations and best practices 
    • Ability to create documentation and safety logs 
    • Ability to communicate in a professional, clear manner 
    • Ability to multi-task while maintaining excellent organizational skills 
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Bluebeam, & Smart Sheets  
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required 
     
    Education and Experience: 
    • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. 
    • Minimum of two (2) years of field experience in structured cabling is a plus   
    • Construction Health and Safety Technician® (CHST) certification preferred but not required  
     
    Physical Requirements: 
    The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 20 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
