The Safety Coordinator will lead safety trainings, conduct inspections, investigate incidents, and support field teams to reduce risk and improve overall safety performance. This role requires a strong understanding of occupational health standards, OSHA regulations, and workers' compensation law, along with excellent report writing and root cause analysis skills. The Safety Coordinator will play a vital role in fostering a safety-first culture and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations.

Duties

  • Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures aligned with OSHA, EPA, and occupational health standards.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits across all departments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and prepare detailed reports to prevent future occurrences.
  • Coordinate and deliver safety training programs focused on OSHA compliance, EHS best practices, first aid, CPR, and workers' compensation law.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of safety records, incident reports, and training logs.
  • Develop and update safety training materials, toolbox talks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure employees are properly trained and certified for equipment use (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts, powered industrial trucks).
  • Work closely with warehouse managers, supervisors, and lumping teams to reinforce a culture of safety.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related questions from employees, customers, and management.
  • Communicate safety expectations clearly and professionally in a fast-paced, labor-intensive environment.
  • Stay current on industry developments related to occupational health and safety laws to ensure ongoing compliance.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of safety experience in warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, or related field (preferred).
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards, warehouse safety practices, and material-handling processes.
  • Strong communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working in physically active environments and around heavy equipment.
  • Strong report writing skills with the ability to analyze incidents through root cause analysis techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining safety documentation.
  • CPR/First Aid or OSHA 30 certification (a plus).
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team committed to fostering a safe workplace environment. This position offers an opportunity for professional growth within a dynamic organization committed to workplace safety excellence.
