Dedicated Safety Representative (DSR) Responsibilities
Provides on-site safety leadership by ensuring compliance, identifying and mitigating
hazards, supporting safe work planning, conducting inspections and training and fostering a proactive safety culture throughout all project activities.
DSR is accountable for oversight, verification, and enforcement of safety practices across assigned projects.- Promote and enforce compliance with company, client, and regulatory safety
requirements
- Conduct routine job-site inspections and identify, document, and correct hazards
- Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and daily pre-task planning activities
- Monitor high-risk work activities, including electrical work, energized tasks, lifts, excavations, confined spaces, and work at heights
Investigate incidents, injuries, near misses, and property damage events; identify
root causes and corrective actions
Support field supervision with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and risk
assessments
- Verify employee qualifications, training, PPE compliance, and safe work practices
- Track safety metrics, maintain required documentation, and prepare client and company reports
Coordinate with project management, field leadership, and client representatives
to resolve safety concerns
Foster a proactive safety culture through coaching, mentoring, employee
engagement, and continual improvement initiatives
