Job Summary
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting and enforcing workplace safety programs on large-scale commercial construction and data center projects. This role focuses on minimizing occupational hazards, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and site-specific safety requirements, conducting audits and inspections, delivering safety training, and promoting a proactive safety culture. The Safety Coordinator works closely with project managers, field leadership, technicians, and client safety teams to identify risks, investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct daily site safety walks, inspections, and audits across active construction work areas.
Enforce compliance with safety policies, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and client safety standards.
Lead and facilitate toolbox talks, safety briefings, and site-specific safety meetings.
Identify workplace hazards and recommend corrective actions to reduce risk and prevent incidents.
Investigate accidents, injuries, near misses, and occupational incidents to determine root causes and preventive measures.
Document incidents, corrective actions, safety observations, and compliance activities.
Coordinate safety initiatives with project managers, supervisors, field leads, and client safety representatives.
Monitor and verify the safe use of ladders, lifts, tools, equipment, and other jobsite resources.
Maintain safety logs, inspection records, reports, and compliance documentation.
Support emergency response procedures, drills, and incident preparedness activities.
Deliver safety training and orientation programs for new and existing employees.
Review project plans and specifications to ensure safety requirements are incorporated and maintained.
Compile, analyze, and report safety performance data, trends, and compliance metrics.
Promote a positive and proactive safety culture throughout the project team.
Stay current with applicable safety regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
Job Requirements
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in construction safety, occupational safety, or safety management.
Experience supporting large-scale commercial construction or data center construction projects.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, hazard identification, and risk mitigation practices.
Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, incident investigations, and corrective action follow-up.
Ability to lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, training sessions, and employee orientations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with field personnel, supervisors, project managers, and client representatives.
Experience maintaining safety reports, compliance records, and documentation.
Ability to confidently and professionally enforce safety policies and procedures.
Working knowledge of PPE requirements, safe work practices, and jobsite safety protocols.
Ability to stand, walk, and navigate active construction sites throughout the workday.
Ability to work overtime as required by project demands.
Must be able to wear required PPE, including composite toe boots.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Additional education in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
Work Experience
Experience in construction safety environments is required.
Experience within low voltage, telecommunications, electrical, or data center construction environments is strongly preferred.
Experience conducting field inspections, safety audits, incident investigations, and compliance monitoring is preferred.

Work Location: Fayetteville project site.
Fully onsite position.
Schedule: Monday through Friday with a 6:00 AM or 7:00 AM start time.
Overtime is required based on project needs.
Project Environment: New construction data center and large-scale commercial construction projects.
