The Safety Coordinator will administer and support the organizations safety programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, and company policies. This role partners with the EHS Manager, HR, logistics, and operations teams to promote a safe workplace, manage claims, and lead investigations.
Education /
Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree preferred.
Minimum 4 years of safety experience preferred.
Experience with Workers Compensation and FMLA required.
Requirements
Knowledge of security protocols, OSHA standards, and safety policies.
Ability to stay current with Osha, Cal/OSHA, EPA, and other regulations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Duties /
Responsibilities
Support the EHS Manager in enhancing and implementing safety practices.
Advise on incident reports and recommend corrective actions.
Conduct site safety assessments and ensure regulatory compliance.
Organize and lead safety committee meetings with operations/logistics.
Maintain safety documentation, including SDS manuals and OSHA 300 logs.
Assist with injury reports, accident investigations, and OSHA investigations.
Serve as primary contact for workers compensation claims, employees, and adjusters.
Coordinate FMLA, leaves of absence, and workers compensation.
Communicate with providers and vendors regarding claims and safety issues.
Compile and prepare reports as needed.
Support HR with investigations, reporting, and related functions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements /
Working Conditions
Ability to walk, stand, or move around production/warehouse environments for extended periods.
Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. (safety equipment, files, or documents).
Must be able to wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when on the production floor.
Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods while preparing reports and documentation.
Primarily office-based with frequent visits to production and warehouse areas.
Exposure to manufacturing environment (noise, machinery, moving equipment).
Fast-paced, 24/7 operational facility requiring flexibility to support different shifts.
Regular interaction with employees, supervisors, vendors, and government inspectors.
Schedule: Night shift, 6:30 PM start, 8-hour shift, 5 days per week
