Safety Coordinator

Description

Our client is looking for a Safety Coordinator to help create and maintain a safe work environment on construction projects. In this role, you'll work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and field employees to ensure safety programs are followed, risks are identified, and everyone goes home safely each day. What You'll Be Doing

  • Support the implementation of company safety programs and site-specific safety plans.

  • Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections and identify potential hazards.

  • Lead new hire safety orientations and daily safety huddles.

  • Review subcontractor safety documentation and ensure compliance before work begins.

  • Assist field teams with pre-task planning and job hazard analyses (JHAs).

  • Investigate incidents, document findings, and help implement corrective actions.

  • Organize and facilitate safety training for employees and subcontractors.

  • Maintain accurate safety records, training documentation, and regulatory postings.

  • Monitor safety trends and recommend improvements to reduce risk.

  • Partner with project leadership, subcontractors, and owners to promote a strong safety culture.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.

What You Must Have

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health & Safety or a related field, or 3+ years of experience in a construction safety role.

  • OSHA 30 certification (or the ability to obtain if required by the employer).

  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers' compensation processes, and construction safety best practices.

  • Experience identifying and mitigating jobsite hazards.

  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management software.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with project teams.
