This short-term assignment will provide field safety oversight for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection installation activities.The Safety Coordinator will work closely with project leadership, field supervision, subcontractors, and craft personnel to identify hazards, reinforce site safety expectations, and help ensure work is completed in accordance with OSHA standards and project-specific safety requirements.This position requires a visible field presence, strong communication skills, and the ability to address safety concerns without disrupting project productivity. The selected contractor must be comfortable working six days per week in an active construction environment.Primary ResponsibilitiesConduct daily jobsite safety inspections, audits, and field observationsMonitor HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection activities for safety complianceIdentify, document, communicate, and follow up on unsafe conditions or work practicesSupport daily pre-task planning, toolbox talks, safety meetings, and site orientationsVerify proper PPE use and compliance with site-specific safety proceduresAssist with contractor and subcontractor safety coordinationReview job hazard analyses, JSAs, and other activity-specific safety documentationInvestigate incidents, injuries, property damage, and near missesTrack corrective actions through completionMaintain accurate inspection reports, safety logs, and project documentationReinforce OSHA requirements and project safety expectations with field personnelPartner with project leadership to promote accountability and a proactive safety cultureRequired Qualifications OSHA 510 certification Minimum of 3 years of construction safety experience Previous experience supporting mechanical construction projects Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection operations Strong understanding of OSHA construction standards and safe work practices Experience conducting inspections, documenting hazards, and managing corrective actions Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to work independently while collaborating with project leadership and field teamsAdditional RequirementsAbility to work approximately 60 hours per week, Monday through SaturdayAbility to walk, stand, climb stairs, and navigate an active construction siteAbility to communicate professionally and confidently with subcontractors and craft personnelStrong attention to detail and consistent documentation practicesAbility to respond promptly to changing jobsite conditions and safety concernsMust be authorized and prepared to work as a 1099 independent contractorMust be available to begin the assignment as soon as possiblePreferred ExperienceMechanical piping and equipment installationHVAC and ductwork installationPlumbing systemsFire protection and sprinkler systemsElevated work and mobile equipmentMaterial handling and lifting activitiesContractor safety coordinationIncident and near-miss investigationsCore SkillsConstruction Safety | OSHA Compliance | Mechanical Construction Safety | Hazard Recognition | Jobsite Inspections | Incident Investigation | Risk Assessment | Corrective Action Management | Safety Documentation | Contractor Coordination | Toolbox Talks | Field CommunicationEqual Opportunity EmployerWe are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
