    Position Summary

     

    Reporting to the Operations Director, the SHS Coordinator II is responsible for promotion, coordinationandmaintenanceoftheSafety,HealthandSustainability(SHS)of theplantand buying point locations to ensure a safe and accident-free workplace as well as the preservation of the environment. The SHS Coordinator II, under the direction of the Operations Director, will provide training to managers and employees in work site SHSpractices.Thispositionwillperiodicallyinspecttheorganization’sfacilitiestodetectexistingor potential accident hazards and determine corrective or preventive measures. In collaborationwiththe OperationsDirector,will lead and coordinate effortstoensurecompliance with National, State, Local, and Company Safety & Environmental requirements.Thisposition will lead the investigation of workplace accidents, root cause analysis and monitor corrective action implementation. The SHS Coordinator II will maintain accident reports required by regulatory agencies and will work with fellow SHS members to reduce injuries and lost work time.The SHS Coordinator II will collaborate with the Operations Director to ensure and maintain environmental compliance and preservation of the locations.

     

    Position Responsibilities

     

    •         Work with Senior and Local Leadership as well as all levels of the facility to promote, develop, and maintain a productive Safety Culture with Zero Harm as its aim.

    •         Conductplantinspectionstoidentifyandcorrectunsafeconditionsinaccordance with OSHA regulations and ofi’s standards and guidance. Issue work orders and follow-up to correct conditions.

    •         Performpost-accidentinvestigationstoidentifycause,exposure,providingeffective feedback

    •         Developandpresentsafetytraining,skilldevelopment,tail-gatemeetingsin

    accordancewithOSHAgeneralindustrysafetyandOlam’sstandardsandguidance

    •         Participateinemergencyresponseactivitiesincludingplanning,demonstrations,and improvements

    •         EnsureHazardCommunicationandGloballyHarmonizedSystem(GHS)program oversight, inspections, and follow-up in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations

    •         CoordinateSHSprogramsfortheplantandbuyingpointfacilitiestoensureasafeand accident-free work environment

    •         Lead and participateinSHSCommitteeandotherrelatedCommitteeactivities

    •         EnsureallrecordsarekeptinaccordancewithStateandFederalregulationsincluding OSHA logs and training documents

    •         SupportHumanResourcesandPlantManageronWorkers’Compensationcaseswith

    afocusonreturningemployeestoworkfollowingworkplaceinjuries

    •         Perform other duties as assigned.

     

     

    Position Requirements

     

    • High school diploma required.Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
    • OSHA10/30GeneralIndustryTraining is required
    • Minimum twoyears’experiencewithsafety in a manufacturing environment
    • Foodmanufacturingexperiencepreferrednotrequired
    • Abilitytotravelto the company buying points andworkovernightupto10% is required
    • Validdriver’s license
    • Demonstratedskillsintraining,developmentandimplementationofhealthandSHS programs are required
    • AppliedknowledgeandworkingunderstandingofOSHA,regulatorycompliance, experience with inspections, incident investigations, process safety, contractor safety, SHS training, hazard reviews, and job SHS analysis are required
    • KnowledgeofMicrosoftOfficeprogramsExcel,Word,Access,PowerPoint, SharePoint is required
    • Resilience,persistence,andoptimism arerequired
    • Strongoralandwrittencommunicationskillsarerequired
    • Abilitytotrainontheuseofdiagnosticequipment/tools.Abilityto writeinEnglish routine maintenance reports or correspondence
    • This role is performed on site at a facility that regularly processes peanuts. Employees in this position will routinely work in areas where peanuts and related allergens are present and may be exposed by contact or in the air.
