We are looking for a Safety Coordinator who wants to do more than enforce rules. We want someone who can help shape culture, build trust with employees, strengthen engagement, and lead safety initiatives that make a real impact across the cooperative.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about operational safety, employee development, field engagement, and continuous improvement.
What You Will Do
- Lead and strengthen the cooperative's safety culture across all departments
- Partner with employees and leaders to proactively identify hazards and improve processes
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, policies, and procedures
- Conduct field observations, audits, inspections, and incident investigations
- Deliver engaging and practical safety training for operational and office employees
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulations
- Coordinate emergency preparedness efforts and support response activities
- Chair and support Safety Committee initiatives
- Analyze trends, identify opportunities for improvement, and help drive accountability
- Serve as a trusted resource and coach for employees and leadership teams

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of three years of safety experience preferred
- Utility, construction, industrial, or electric cooperative experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and utility safety regulations
- Strong presentation, communication, investigation, and organizational skills
- Commitment to completing NRECA Safety Program requirements
