Sigma Systems Inc. is currently seeking a Safety Data Analyst to support our client in Boston, MA. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in data analytics, safety analysis, statistical evaluation, technical report writing, and risk management who can transform complex datasets into clear insights that support safety improvements and executive decision-making.
The ideal candidate will have experience analyzing operational data, identifying trends, creating analytical reports, developing data visualizations, and communicating findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Position Overview
The Safety Data Analyst will analyze safety-related data, develop comprehensive reports, identify emerging trends, and support risk management initiatives. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent technical writing abilities, and the ability to translate complex information into actionable recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality, academically structured safety analysis reports and white papers focused on key safety issues, hazards, trends, and risk factors.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret safety and operational data to identify trends and performance indicators.
- Prepare monthly reports evaluating progress toward safety goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Analyze mitigation strategies and provide assessments to support senior leadership decision-making.
- Prepare analytical data packages supporting safety investigations and risk assessments.
- Develop ad hoc reports supporting safety risk management activities.
- Analyze incident and hazard data to identify potential safety concerns and improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external safety oversight agencies to evaluate mitigation effectiveness.
- Create clear data visualizations, charts, and dashboards that communicate findings effectively.
- Translate complex analytical results into recommendations understandable to technical and public audiences.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through evidence-based analysis.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate degree or High School Diploma/GED with equivalent relevant experience accepted.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in:
- Data analytics
- Safety analysis
- Technical report writing
- Research analysis
- Operational data analysis
- Related analytical fields
- Strong experience writing long-form analytical reports, white papers, or technical documentation.
- Ability to perform basic statistical analysis, including understanding of:
- Linear modeling
- Standard error
- Data distribution
- Variance
- Understanding of data modeling concepts including:
- Joining datasets
- Merging data sources
- Data summarization
- Sampling techniques
