Job Description
The Safety Engineer/Coordinator will:
- Support the implementation and enforcement of site-specific safety plans on active construction projects.
- Conduct routine jobsite inspections, safety walks, and hazard assessments to ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
- Assist with preconstruction safety planning, subcontractor onboarding, and risk mitigation reviews.
- Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and daily safety briefings for field teams.
- Maintain safety documentation including audits, training records, incident reports, permits, and corrective action logs.
- Partner with superintendents, project managers, and field personnel to identify and eliminate potential safety risks.
- Assist in investigating incidents and near misses while documenting findings and tracking corrective actions.
- Monitor PPE compliance and adherence to all site safety requirements.
- Promote and reinforce a positive, engaging, and accountable safety culture across project teams.

The Successful Applicant
A successful Safety Engineer/Coordinator should have:
- 2+ years of construction safety experience.
- Experience working for a general contractor or relevant construction subcontractor.
- Knowledge of construction safety practices and OSHA compliance requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively with field personnel, subcontractors, and project leadership.
- Willingness to support projects throughout the NoVA/DC region.
