Position Summary

This is a health and safety position that encompasses activities related to the well-being of employees including:

  • Developing and implementing policies and practices to identify/mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace
  • Identifying potential workplace hazards, unsafe equipment, work practices, and working conditions
  • Investigating accidents and liaising with engineers, management, and health and safety regulatory authorities to identify causes of accidents and prevent reoccurrences
  • Participate in risk assessments, new equipment safety releases, industrial hygiene air sampling and noise monitoring, OSHA recordkeeping, and teammate training and orientation
  • Providing advice and training on safety protocols and conducting audits to ensure compliance with organization and government standards related to employee health and safety
  • Maintaining and analyzing records of workplace injuries, illness, and absences to identify areas of concern and provide information required by regulatory agencies
  • The starting salary range for this role is $65,000; in addition a variable incentive bonus may occur annually based on plant performance.Pay Range: $66,200.00 - $102,600.00

Responsibilities

  • Works on problems of moderate scope and assists with projects or processes while receiving general instructions from higher level professionals
  • Applies research towards the planning, design development, testing, and completion of projects
  • Impact is short-term, occasionally on medium-term goals
  • Continues building knowledge of organization and processes
  • May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a BS in Biology/Chemistry/Industrial Hygiene/Occupational Health & Safety or related field or equivalent and 2+ years full-time industrial hygiene experience; OR MS in Industrial Hygiene/Public Health or related field and minimal industrial hygiene experience. CAIH or CIH preferred.

OR

  • BS Safety Management or related field or equivalent and 2+ years full-time safety and health experience; OR MS Safety Management or related field and minimal safety and health experience. ASP preferred.
