Pre-Project Preparation -
Review the project's safety guidelines, site-specific safety plan, and any client-specific safety requirements.
Coordinate with the regional safety lead to ensure all necessary safety signage and PPE are available.
Confirm that all personnel scheduled to work on-site have completed the required safety orientation training.
Document Collection-
Gather and organize documentation from subcontractors and trade partners, including: Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Safety Data Sheets (SDS), High-Risk Activity Plans, Heat Illness Prevention Plans (if applicable), Training certifications (e.g., OSHA 10/30, site-specific safety training, equipment operator cards)
On-Site Responsibilities-
Conduct at least one safety audit per day using the designated digital platform, including annotated photos.
Share audit findings and corrective actions with the project team to ensure visibility and timely resolution.
Submit a minimum of two Safety Observation Reports (SORs) per week.
Spend 60-70% of your time in the field engaging with crews and monitoring safety practices.
Attend and contribute to daily huddles, coordination meetings, foremen's meetings, and preconstruction meetings.
Lead or support weekly all-hands safety meetings, including preparation of materials and attendance tracking.
Documentation Oversight-
Spot-check safety documentation during site visits.
Review and track: Daily Action Plans (DAPs), High-Risk Activity Plans, Hot work permits and checklists, Safety orientation records, Project-specific safety documentation (e.g., SDS, confined space plans)
Incident Management / Response and Reporting-
Immediately notify the project team and regional safety lead of any incidents or near-misses.
Assist in incident investigations and review reports prior to submission.
Ensure a "Lessons Learned" summary is created for each incident or near miss.
Trade Partner Engagement-
Conduct site-specific safety orientations for all trade partners.
Maintain regular communication with subcontractor safety representatives.
Participate in or lead planning meetings for high-risk activities (e.g., crane operations, confined space entry, fall protection).
Professional Conduct and Communication-
Work alongside another safety individual
Maintain clear and frequent communication with the project team, safety leadership, and trade partners.
Be responsive to field inquiries and proactive in addressing safety concerns.
Ask questions when clarification is needed and share observations or suggestions openly.

Skills / Qualifications:
Experience using Highwire (must have)
Experience acting as safety specialist on data center or commercial building projects (Data center experience highly preferred)
Designated EHS representative - must have a current 30 hour OSHA Certificate or higher and at least 2 years' experience in the construction industry (GSP)
Prior experience supporting data center construction projects is strongly preferred. Experience in commercial building construction will be considered.
Excellent communication skills across all levels of project teams.
Reliable, proactive, and able to support and align with the project schedule.
Must be punctual, reliable and able to accommodate the projects schedule. Start times could be at 5 or 6 AM and OT expected. Expect to work between 40 - 50 hours/ week.
Required to remain on site while active construction is ongoing. Flexibility is expected if jobsite needs to extend beyond standard hours
Experience working on sites that require NDA is a plus

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.
