    JOB SUMMARY

    We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Manager to lead our workplace safety initiatives across manufacturing operations. In this vital role, you will develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs that promote a culture of safety excellence. Your expertise will ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations while fostering a safe, healthy, and productive work environment for all employees.     Duties
    • Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety policies aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), and other regulatory standards in manufacturing settings.
    • Conduct regular safety audits, hazard assessments, and root cause analyses to identify potential risks and implement corrective actions promptly.
    • Lead safety training sessions focused on workplace safety, hazardous materials regulations, emergency response procedures, CPR, first aid, and environmental management systems.
    • Ensure compliance with environmental health and occupational health standards by monitoring environmental regulatory compliance and environmental management systems.
    • Manage incident investigations, prepare detailed report writing, and maintain accurate records of safety performance metrics.
    • Oversee hazardous materials handling procedures to ensure adherence to hazardous materials regulations and workplace safety protocols.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement in employee health initiatives.
    • Manage all environmental programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
    • Oversee wastewater pretreatment operations, air permits, stormwater management, waste management, and chemical reporting requirements.
    • Maintain environmental records, permits, monitoring documentation, and required governmental reporting.
    • Ensure completion and documentation of required training for all employees, supervisors, contractors, and visitors.
    • Coach managers and supervisors on safety leadership and accountability.
    • Assist with onboarding and orientation programs related to safety and environmental requirements.
    • Maintain facility emergency response and crisis management programs.
    • Coordinate emergency response teams and drills.
    • Serve as a key member of the facility's incident command structure.
    • Ensure readiness for fire, severe weather, chemical release, and other emergency situations.
    • Oversee workers' compensation processes and injury case management.
    • Coordinate return-to-work programs and follow-up activities.
    • Analyze injury data and develop preventive measures to reduce risk.
    • Partner with medical providers and insurance representatives on claims management.
    • Partner with operations and maintenance leaders to integrate EHS initiatives into daily operations.
    • Support capital projects by evaluating environmental and safety impacts.
    • Communicate EHS performance, risks, and improvement initiatives to facility and corporate leadership.

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a strong understanding of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance standards, and workplace safety practices.
    • Certifications in CPR, first aid, OSHA safety standards, environmental management systems (EMS), and workers' compensation law are highly desirable.
    • Demonstrated expertise in conducting hazard assessments, root cause analysis, and report writing related to safety incidents.
    • Knowledge of hazardous materials regulations, environmental health standards, occupational health expertise, and regulatory/legal compliance standards in production is essential.
    • Strong training & development skills with the ability to educate employees on safety procedures effectively.
    • Excellent communication skills to articulate complex safety information clearly and persuasively across all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
