Why This Role Matters
Safety decisions made locally have companyâwide consequences, especially in our Eastern Region, where regulatory expectations are higher and operating conditions vary widely. This role ensures that employees, customers, and communities across our regional locations are protected every day. You’ll be the person who turns safety standards into realâworld habits that prevent injuries, incidents, and disruptions before they happen.
The Impact You’ll Make
As Safety Manager for the West Region, you’ll be the onâtheâground leader ensuring safety programs are consistently executed across your region. Within your first 90 days, success looks like stronger siteâlevel ownership of safety, clearer visibility into risks, and practical behaviorâbased improvements that reduce incidents, near misses, and claims.
What You’ll Actually Do
- Serve as the primary safety leader for all regional locations, partnering closely with Regional VP's, General Managers and field teams
- Identify, track, and reduce atârisk behaviors that contribute to injuries, incidents, and property damage
- Ensure safety practices, procedures, audits, and measurements are consistently applied across the region
- Conduct regular site visits and audits, translating findings into clear corrective actions that actually get done
- Support managers in reviewing operational and safety reports (including outâofâgas and incident data) and implementing prevention strategies
- Deliver and coordinate safety and compliance training for field personnel, including required certifications and refreshers
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, with particular attention to requirements (OSHA, EPA, NFPA, DOT, state agencies)
- Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and followâup actions
- Partner with corporate safety, risk, and insurance teams to support claims management and loss control initiatives
- Review new or modified facilities, equipment, and systems to ensure safety and regulatory readiness
What You’ll Do in Your First 30 Days
- Visit key locations to observe operations, meet frontline teams, and understand siteâspecific risks
- Review recent incidents, near misses, audit results, and claims affecting the region
- Assess current training completion and identify immediate compliance or skills gaps
- Establish trusted working relationships with General Managers and regional leadership
Insurance, Claims & Risk Support
- Support prompt and accurate reporting of workers’ compensation, auto, and liability incidents
- Partner with managers to ensure claims are documented, followed, and closed properly
- Participate in returnâtoâwork efforts and corrective actions tied to claims trends

- Safety leadership experience in a multiâsite or regional operation
- Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, and fuel or industrial safety standards

- Experience supporting claims, loss control efforts, or insurance coordination
- Background in technical or fieldâbased training
