Construction Safety Manager Location: Lebanon, IN Duration: 1-2 Years (Start: 8/17) Type: 1099 ContractorCompensation & Schedule Pay Rate: $65/HR(local) $60/hr (Non-local) Per Diem: $125/Day (7 Days Per Week) Completion Bonus: $150/month Pay Frequency: Weekly Schedule: Monday-Saturday | 8-10 Hour Days Sundays as Project Needs RequireWhy This Opportunity?Join a contractor supporting the early site development phase of a new data center construction project in Lebanon, IN. This is a long-term opportunity providing hands-on safety oversight for land preparation, mass excavation, trenching, grading, and heavy civil construction activities.The Construction Safety Manager will maintain a strong field presence while working directly with heavy equipment operators, craft personnel, and project supervision to identify hazards, ensure OSHA compliance, and support safe execution of site development activities throughout the project.Required Qualifications BCSP Certification CHST, CSP, ASP, or SMP OSHA 30 Construction Certification Minimum 5 years of construction safety experiencePreferred Qualifications Data center or mission-critical construction experience Mass excavation and site development experience Excavation/Trenching Competent Person experience Heavy equipment safety experience Underground utility construction experience CHST, ASP, CSP, or other BCSP credentialWhat You'll Be DoingOversee daily safety activities for site development and land preparation operationsMaintain a highly visible field presence throughout active construction areasMonitor mass excavation, trenching, grading, and earthmoving activitiesProvide safety oversight for heavy equipment and mobile equipment operationsConduct routine site inspections, audits, field observations, and hazard assessmentsVerify excavation protective systems, access/egress, spoil placement, and site conditionsMonitor underground utility and trenching activitiesReview Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plansEnsure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirementsCoordinate safety activities with project supervision, equipment operators, and craft personnelIdentify unsafe conditions and implement timely corrective actionsParticipate in incident investigations and root cause analysesMaintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reportsProvide field coaching and reinforce safe work practicesPromote a proactive safety culture throughout the projectTechnical KnowledgeCandidates should have working knowledge of:OSHA Construction StandardsExcavation & Trenching SafetyOSHA Subpart PMass Excavation & Earthmoving OperationsGrading & Site DevelopmentHeavy Equipment & Mobile Equipment SafetyExcavation Protective SystemsSoil ClassificationUnderground Utility ConstructionHeavy Civil ConstructionData Center Site DevelopmentJob Hazard Analysis (JHA)Safety Inspections & Field ObservationsIncident Investigation & Root Cause AnalysisContractor Safety ManagementConstruction Risk Assessment & MitigationWhat Success Looks LikeThe ideal candidate is a field-focused construction safety professional with strong excavation, trenching, grading, and heavy civil experience who is comfortable working around active earthmoving operations and heavy equipment.Success in this role requires maintaining a strong field presence, proactively identifying changing site conditions and excavation hazards, effectively communicating with operators and supervision, and ensuring site development activities are completed safely and in compliance with OSHA requirements.Apply TodayQualified candidates should submit a resume for immediate review.If you have experience directly related to the project's scope of work, please ensure it is clearly reflected on your resume, including specific experience with mass excavation, trenching, grading, earthmoving, heavy equipment, underground utilities, site development, heavy civil construction, or data center projects.Interviews are actively being scheduled for qualified candidates.
