Construction Safety Manager
Location: Macon, GA
Duration: 6+ Months (Start: 5/18)
Type: 1099 Contractor


Position Details

Hourly Rate: $56/hr (Local) $52.50 (non-local)
Per Diem: $125/Day on seven days
Completion Bonus: $150/month
Pay Frequency: Weekly

Schedule: Mon-Saturday, 10-12 hours per day shift. Can do 10/4 rotation


Project Scope

The Construction Safety Manager will oversee safety for the general contractor involved in the retrofit of the operational Amazon distribution center.


Qualifications (Required)

  • OSHA 500 or a 4-year safety degree or BCSP cert

  • 5+ years of field construction safety experience


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine safety audits, site inspections, and risk assessments across multiple project sites

  • Lead incident investigations, document findings, and implement corrective actions

  • Deliver safety orientations and ongoing training for employees, subcontractors, and new hires

  • Partner with project management and field teams to identify and mitigate safety risks proactively

  • Maintain accurate safety documentation, including incident reports, inspections, and compliance records

  • Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and site-specific safety requirements

  • Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture across all levels of the project team


Skills & Knowledge

Skills:

  • Strong communication and public speaking abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities

  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment

  • High level of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information

Knowledge:

  • In-depth understanding of EHS principles and construction safety regulations

  • Ability to effectively communicate and enforce safety standards and best practices

  • Familiarity with mechanical construction safety, particularly underground piping operations
