Compensation
Rate: $50/hr
Per Diem: $125
Pay Frequency: Weekly

Schedule
Hours: 12 hours per day / 60 hours per week
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Shift: 07:00-19:00

Project Scope
This project involves the excavation and filling of a power plant ash pond over a one-week duration. The Safety Manager will oversee daily safety operations to ensure compliance with applicable OSHA regulations, site-specific safety plans, and environmental controls related to ash handling and excavation activities.
The role requires a strong field presence, working closely with site supervision, equipment operators, and subcontractors to proactively identify hazards and implement corrective actions. Emphasis will be placed on excavation safety, heavy equipment operations, and environmental protection measures within an active power plant setting.

Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of safety experience
Background in excavation safety
Industrial, environmental, and/or power plant experience
OSHA 30 certification required
OSHA 510 preferred

Additional Requirements
Ability to obtain a TWIC card
Ability to obtain a CCS card

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce site-specific safety policies and OSHA regulations
  • Conduct daily job hazard analyses and safety briefings
  • Monitor excavation and fill operations for compliance and safe execution
  • Perform site inspections and document findings
  • Investigate incidents and near misses
  • Coordinate with project management to address safety concerns
  • Maintain required safety documentation and reporting
