    Description

Sargent is looking for an experienced, people-focused Safety Manager to join our team. This role is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping ensure our employees go home safely every day while supporting a strong, proactive safety culture across our operations.

The Safety Manager will partner closely with field leadership, project teams, and employees to identify hazards, coach safe work practices, ensure regulatory compliance, and continuously improve our safety programs.

    What You'll Do:

    • Provide leadership and support for Sargent's company-wide safety program.
    • Partner with project managers, superintendents, foremen, and field employees to promote a strong safety culture.
    • Conduct jobsite inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
    • Coach employees and leaders on safe work practices and help develop practical solutions to field safety concerns.
    • Lead and participate in incident investigations, including identifying root causes and developing corrective actions.
    • Monitor compliance with OSHA requirements, company policies, and applicable federal and state regulations.
    • Develop and deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and other educational programs.
    • Track safety trends and use data to identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Assist with developing and updating safety policies, procedures, and programs.
    • Support projects with pre-planning, job hazard analyses, and other safety-related needs.
    • Serve as a trusted safety resource for employees and leadership across the organization.

    What We're Looking For:

    • Previous safety experience, within construction, heavy civil, utilities, or a related field.
    • Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards and safety best practices.
    • Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with employees at all levels of an organization.
    • A practical, solutions-oriented approach to safety.
    • Strong leadership, coaching, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
    • Relevant safety certifications such as CHST, CSP, OSHA 30, or similar are a plus.

    Why Sargent?

At Sargent, safety isn't simply a set of rules-as a 100% employee-owned company, every employee has a stake in our success and in making sure the people beside them go home safely.

We're looking for a Safety Manager who can be a visible, trusted presence in the field, build relationships, and help us continue raising the bar.

If you're passionate about construction, people, and creating a culture where safety and production work together, we'd love to hear from you.
