SAFETY MANAGERAsbestos Abatement & Total Demolition Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Start Date: ASAP Project Duration: Approximately 10 Months Employment Type: 1099 ContractorLONG-TERM PHILADELPHIA PROJECTWe are seeking an experienced Safety Manager with demonstrated asbestos abatement and demolition experience to provide full-time, on-site safety leadership for a large-scale environmental remediation and total demolition project in the Philadelphia area.This is a strong opportunity for a qualified safety professional seeking a long-term assignment, consistent Monday through Friday schedule, weekly pay, and up to $200 per day in traveler per diem.The selected contractor will oversee safety activities involving asbestos removal and the total demolition of multiple one-story structures. This position requires a visible field presence, strong documentation skills, and the ability to identify and correct hazards in a high-risk demolition environment.COMPENSATION Local Contractor Rate: $55 to $60 per hour️ Traveler Contractor Rate: $48 to $52 per hour Traveler Per Diem: $200 per day Pay Frequency: WeeklyWORK SCHEDULE Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week Schedule: Monday through Friday Shift: Day ShiftPROJECT SCOPEThe Safety Manager will serve as the primary on-site safety representative for a project involving:• Large-scale asbestos abatement• Environmental remediation activities• Total demolition of multiple one-story structures• Heavy equipment and demolition operations• Contractor and subcontractor safety oversight• Daily inspections, reporting, and corrective-action trackingThe Safety Manager will work closely with project leadership, field supervision, subcontractors, and craft personnel to ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with project requirements and applicable regulations.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Previous asbestos abatement safety experience Demolition project safety experience Construction, environmental, remediation, or industrial safety background Experience overseeing contractors and subcontractors Strong hazard-recognition and risk-mitigation skills Experience conducting daily audits, inspections, and safety reporting Strong incident investigation and documentation capabilities Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with field teamsCandidates without direct asbestos abatement and demolition experience will not be considered.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES• Provide daily safety leadership throughout all project activities• Monitor asbestos abatement operations for safe and compliant execution• Oversee demolition activities and associated high-risk work• Conduct jobsite inspections, audits, and hazard assessments• Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate corrective actions• Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and site orientations• Investigate incidents, near misses, property damage, and safety concerns• Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and incident documentation• Verify contractor and subcontractor compliance with site safety requirements• Support emergency-response planning and incident-prevention initiatives• Partner with project management to achieve safety and operational objectives• Promote accountability and a proactive safety culture across the projectIDEAL CANDIDATEThe ideal candidate is a confident, field-driven Safety Manager who understands the hazards associated with asbestos removal, structural demolition, environmental remediation, heavy equipment, respiratory protection, hazardous materials, and contractor-controlled work.This individual must be comfortable addressing unsafe behaviors, documenting deficiencies, communicating with multiple project stakeholders, and maintaining consistent safety expectations throughout a demanding demolition project.CORE SKILLSConstruction Safety | Demolition Safety | Asbestos Abatement Oversight | Environmental Remediation | Hazard Recognition | Incident Investigation | Safety Auditing | Contractor Management | Corrective Actions | Regulatory Compliance | Safety Documentation | Field CommunicationADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Available to start as soon as possible Able to work full-time and on-site in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Able to commit to the anticipated 10-month project duration Capable of working effectively in an active demolition environment Dependable transportation and consistent site attendanceAPPLY TODAYQualified Safety Managers with direct asbestos abatement and demolition experience are encouraged to apply immediately.
