Position Summary United Window & Door is seeking a motivated and hands-on Safety Manager to lead and support the company's safety initiatives across our manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with OSHA, fire safety, and local regulatory requirements, and driving continuous improvement in workplace safety. The Safety Manager will spend approximately 80% of their time on the production floor conducting audits, coaching employees, investigating safety concerns, and implementing corrective actions, with the remaining 20% dedicated to administrative, reporting, and training responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, fire codes, and applicable federal, state, and local safety requirements. • Conduct routine safety audits and inspections of machinery, equipment, work areas, employee practices, and production processes. • Identify workplace hazards and implement corrective and preventive actions. • Develop, coordinate, and conduct safety training programs for employees and supervisors. • Monitor employee compliance with company safety policies and procedures. • Partner with management and Human Resources regarding safety-related coaching, disciplinary actions, and corrective measures when safety protocols are not followed. • Investigate incidents, near misses, injuries, and property damage events and prepare required reports. • Lead initiatives to improve workplace safety, including recommendations for equipment modifications, process improvements, and enhanced safety procedures. • Manage safety documentation, records, and compliance reporting. • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and external safety-related organizations, including OSHA, local Fire Departments, safety consultants, and PPE suppliers. • Support emergency preparedness programs and safety committees. • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement in safety programs. Required Qualifications • Bilingual in English and Spanish. • Occupational Health and Safety training or related certification. • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety principles. • Excellent communication, leadership, and training skills. • Ability to work independently and effectively in a manufacturing environment. • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications • Three (3) or more years of experience in a Safety, EHS, or Safety Management role within a manufacturing environment. • Experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations. • Experience developing and delivering employee safety training programs. • Strong understanding of machine guarding requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, PPE programs, and industrial safety practices. • Experience working directly with OSHA inspectors, Fire Departments, insurance carriers, and third-party safety consultants. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Preferred Certifications The following certifications are highly desirable: • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification. • OSHA 500 Trainer Certification. • First Aid, CPR, and AED Certification. • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) Certification. • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certification. Work Schedule • Full-time position. • Monday through Friday. • Typical schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (schedule may vary based on business needs). • Occasional overtime, weekends, or off-shift hours may be required to support training, audits, incident investigations, or regulatory inspections. Work Environment This position operates primarily in a manufacturing environment and requires regular exposure to moving machinery, industrial equipment, noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and required as necessary.
