Project Scope
This role serves as the Safety Owner's Representative for a large-scale data center new build project. The position represents the owner's interests and oversees all safety performance across the site, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, owner safety standards, and project-specific requirements.
The Safety Owner's Rep will work closely with the Construction Manager, general contractor, subcontractors, and on-site safety leadership. This is a lead safety position responsible for driving a strong safety culture, monitoring contractor safety programs, and addressing high-risk activities common to data center construction.
The project operates with dedicated safety coverage on both day and night shifts. This role is the lead day-shift safety representative and will coordinate closely with the night-shift safety manager to ensure continuity and consistency across all operations.
Qualifications
7-10 years of data center construction safety experience
Experience leading safety efforts on large, complex construction sites
Direct experience running a site for a Construction Manager and/or Owner
Strong understanding of data center construction activities and hazards
CSP or CHST certification
Additional Requirements
Ability to work full-time on-site
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and contractors
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Owner's on-site safety representative for the project
- Oversee and evaluate contractor and subcontractor safety performance
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and owner safety standards
- Lead safety meetings, audits, and site inspections
- Identify, mitigate, and escalate safety risks and non-compliance issues
- Coordinate with day and night shift safety management
- Provide regular safety reporting to owner and project leadership
