What You'll Do

  • Lead and implement citywide safety policies, training, and programs.
  • Guide the City-Wide Safety Committee and help bring new initiatives to life.
  • Deliver or coordinate engaging safety training and materials.
  • Track safety metrics, analyze trends, and recommend improvements.
  • Manage the City/County Drug & Alcohol program with confidentiality.
  • Conduct DMV checks and review accidents to prevent future injuries.
  • Perform job safety analyses and assess workplace hazards.
  • Review equipment procedures and identify risks.
  • Maintain accurate safety files and documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in safety and health, industrial engineering, business administration or related field plus two years of experience relating to safety, loss control or risk management; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.

Special Requirements

Possession of a valid drivers license when operating a vehicle is necessary for the satisfactory performance of assigned duties.
