General Job Description: The Safety/Security Officer (SSO) provides overall support with regard to the safety and security of a school site. The SSO supports school administration and the school safety team in creating and implementing the school safety plan that includes the Standard Repose Protocol (SRP). The SSO works to de-escalate situations that occur at school sites with students, and places importance on safety of all students and staff.

Physical Requirements: On-site attendance is mandatory for this position. Ability to perform the job and access the environment for which you are hired. The following may be required: Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for moderate to extremely heavy carrying, lifting, and pushing; reaching, climbing in high, precarious places, crawling, sitting, kneeling, standing and walking for extended periods of time; operation of motor vehicles; and subject to random drug testing.
Equipment/Technology Handled: Must know how to properly operate or be willing to learn to operate all multimedia equipment including current technology.
Work Environment: Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air
quality. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision. After hour work may be required.
Salary and work calendar established yearly by the district.
