Job Description:

The Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts - Half Day seeks an Accompanist for 4 hours per week.

Under the supervision of the Music Department Chairperson, to provide musical and rhythmic accompaniment for jazz vocal classes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Practices music selected by the students and instructor.
  • Deep knowledge of jazz piano, polished Skills and Abilities. Requires several years of study in the jazz piano discipline performed and minimum 3 years of professional level experience. Must have expert knowledge of musical phrasing and musicianship and be knowledgeable in music terminally.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS/BA degree in Education or a BFA with emphasis in appropriate discipline or equivalent required
