Position Title: Safety & Security Representative

Rate of Pay: $17.75 per hour

Position Purpose:

Ensures the safety and security of guests, patrons, employees and business partners during events, the annual OC Fair, and/or while no events are being held. This is a temporary seasonal position not to exceed 122 days.

Shifts are below and will be subject to change upon business needs:

Swing 1530-0000

Grave 2330-0800

Essential Functions:

  • Patrols the fairgrounds property on foot, bicycle or by vehicle to ensure the safety and security of patrons, employees, business partners, and guests.
  • Acts as ambassador for the OCFEC by answering inquiries from patrons, employees, business partners and guests, and responds to requests for assistance.
  • Reports damages and changes to property buildings and structures and reports potential security hazards and/or needed repairs.
  • May assist in investigating incidences and contributes to written reports.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills, particularly in dealing with others in difficult situations.

Shift Information:

  • Day, swing and graveyard shifts offered

Preferences:

  • Previous security or Safety & Security Department experience preferred.

The 32nd District Agricultural Association, also known as the OC Fair & Event Center (OCFEC) is a state agency under jurisdiction of the California Department of Food & Agriculture. The governing authority is a nine-member Board of Directors.

OCFEC is located in Costa Mesa, California on 130 acres that include educational assets like Centennial Farm and Heroes Hall. With an annual budget of $50 + million, the organization produces a STEAM education event, Imaginology and the highly-anticipated OC Fair each year. The OC Fair is one of the top ten Fairs in the nation and top three in California. In addition to the annual OC Fair, promoters host over 150 year-round events on our beautiful grounds.
