We are seeking an experienced Safety Specialist to coordinate construction-site safety activities and ensure compliance with site safety, health, environmental, GMP, and reliability requirements. This role will work closely with project managers, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to maintain safe working conditions and ensure adherence to site procedures.
Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate site safety activities and ensure contractors follow established safety standards and procedures.
Implement site safety processes, work-permitting requirements, and applicable safety guidelines.
Coordinate contractor training, site access, safety briefings, inspections, and permit-to-work activities.
Work with project leads and contractors to develop and implement project-specific safety plans.
Coordinate safety personnel and resources based on project needs and safety performance.
Lead or support construction safety incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Conduct safety inspections and identify potential hazards or unsafe working conditions.
Collaborate with area owners, contractors, and project teams to resolve safety concerns.
Monitor compliance with applicable safety, health, environmental, and site requirements.
Maintain safety records, inspection reports, incident documentation, and corrective action records.
Experience in construction safety, site safety coordination, or a related safety role.
Knowledge of contractor safety management and permit-to-work processes.
Experience coordinating safety training, inspections, safety briefings, and site access.
Ability to investigate incidents, identify hazards, and support corrective actions.
Understanding of safety, health, and environmental requirements in construction or industrial environments.
Strong communication, coordination, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work 100% onsite in Cambridge, MA for the contract duration.
Experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated construction projects.
Familiarity with GMP requirements and construction safety procedures.
Experience coordinating multiple contractors and project safety resources.
Experience monitoring safety KPIs and implementing continuous improvements.
The hourly rate for this position is $45 $54/hr on W2, depending on experience and qualifications.
