Our team is seeking a Safety Specialist to join our team. This role promotes a culture of safety in our fabrication shops. The ideal candidate will develop, implement, and oversee health and safety programs to prevent accidents and injuries, ensuring a safe working environment.WHO WE AREKinsley Steel has been delivering unmatched quality steel on time and on budget since 1985. Our certified and highly skilled teams specialize in structural steel design, engineering, detailing, fabrication, erection and retrofit to existing structural members.THIS ROLEThe Safety Specialist supports the implementation and daily execution of Kinsley Steel's safety program within the fabrication shop environment. This role emphasizes consistent floor presence, hazard recognition, employee engagement, and reinforcement of safe work practices during steel fabrication activities.This position is hands-on and shop-focused, designed to build practical safety experience while supporting supervisors and employees in maintaining a safe, efficient fabrication operation.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESShop Floor Presence & EngagementMaintain a consistent presence on the fabrication shop floorObserve fabrication activities and identify hazards in real timeEngage employees to reinforce safe behaviors and correct unsafe conditionsSupport a visible, approachable safety presenceInspections & Hazard IdentificationDocument findings and track corrective actions to closureTraining & CommunicationAssist with new hire safety onboarding for shop employeesSupport and help deliver toolbox talks and safety briefingsProvide clear, practical safety coachingIncident SupportAssist with incident and near-miss reportingParticipate in incident investigationsHelp identify root causes and corrective actionsFollow up to ensure corrective actions are completedProgram Support & DocumentationMaintain safety records (inspections, training logs, reports)Assist with documentation and recordkeepingSupport continuous improvement of shop safety programsQUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience2+ years of experience in a safety, EHS, or risk management role preferredRelevant professional certifications preferred, such as ASP or CSPEqual Opportunity Employer: All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.Kinsley Steel, Inc. is a Drug Free Workplace where post-offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Kinsley Steel, Inc. is a participant in the Federal E-Verify Program.
