SITE SAFETY TECHNICIAN (Electrical Background)

Join Peak, a leading company in the construction industry, as a Site Safety Technician. This role will be based in Spartanburg SC and is approximately a six - seven week project. Excellent opportunity for an OSHA 30/510 candidate who is looking to fill in their down time with a six week project. Plenty of overtime during this period.

Local to the Spartanburg area is preferred as no per diem is available at this time.

Some experience with electrical commissioning background as a trade or in a Safety role. Commercial construction experience required. OSHA 30 minimum required with FirstAid, CPR, AED certifications.

Must be willing to work overtime as needed on a flexible schedule - Schedule is 6 - 7 days per week, 8 - 10 hour +days for approximately 6 weeks

Be able to furnish OSHA and other certifications for your file.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety plans for concrete pours
  • Conduct daily safety inspections of the jobsite, focusing on a concrete environment.
  • Background in electrical either safety or by trade
  • LOTO and electrical commissioning experience
  • Lead toolbox talks, safety training, and pre-task planning sessions with crews.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with safety managers, project managers, and superintendents/foremen to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain safety documentation, including inspections, training records, and incident reports.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies on safety-related matters.
  • Act as the on-site champion of safety culture, ensuring every worker goes home safely.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of construction safety experience, with at least 1 year in an electrical environment (this can be in a trade or a safety role).
  • OSHA 30 Construction (minimum).
  • Strong knowledge of site safety and LOTO
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills for engaging with crews and management.
  • Ability to recognize hazards and implement corrective actions quickly.
  • First Aid/CPR and AED certification required.
