Role Overview

Our client is seeking a Safety Valve Assembler to support the repair, assembly, testing, and inspection of safety relief valves. This role is responsible for working with complex valve components, performing functional testing, and ensuring assemblies meet applicable quality, safety, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Repair safety relief valves in accordance with National Board VR Code requirements.
  • Test safety valves using air, water, and steam.
  • Assemble complex components according to assembly drawings and bills of material.
  • Perform functional testing on assemblies based on customer and division requirements.
  • Operate test equipment in compliance with engineering and safety standards.
  • Apply settings, calibrate tools, and maintain assembly equipment.
  • Torque various components to required specifications.
  • Read and interpret manufacturer drawings, spring charts, and technical documentation.
  • Verify critical dimensions using measurement tools and math skills.
  • Perform machine and hand lapping of nozzles and discs.
  • Complete valve write-ups and quality notifications.
  • Support pressure and leak testing in accordance with National Board, API, and ASME standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience using dial calipers.
  • Experience using micrometers.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, spring charts, and assembly documentation.
  • Understanding of pressure testing, leak testing, and safety valve repair processes.
  • Strong measurement, math, and mechanical assembly skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience assembling or repairing safety valves.
  • Experience working with steam boiler operating and testing processes.
  • Experience working with Consolidated products.
  • Familiarity with National Board, API, and ASME standards.
