Patient Meal Service

Provides patient meal service and cleans all areas supporting meal service. Key responsibilities include accurately assembling, distributing, and collecting patient trays, collecting patient trays at the appropriate time and in an efficient manner, cleaning all wares used for this purpose, cleaning all equipment used for this purpose, cleaning the dish machine, dish room, and equipment appropriately, responding to patient requests in a timely manner, passing patient trays in a correct and courteous manner, handling food in a safe manner (i.e. maintaining temps, using barriers, observing HACCP plan), stripping trays per procedure and in a timely manner, all other tasks as assigned, management of time and resources, completing work assignments within an acceptable time frame, using time and resources to the best possible advantage for successful completion of job responsibilities, developing and maintaining efficient working relationships, being reliable in respect to attendance, being reliable in respect to punctuality, recognizing the importance of team efforts and partnering with others to achieve positive outcomes, being part of a team effort to insure quality services, offering creative solutions or alternatives to issues or concerns, producing quality results, continually striving to improve the quality of work, accepting responsibility for all work performed and taking appropriate corrective action as needed.

Minimum qualifications include being able to understand and follow instructions, reading English, working on feet for long periods of time, being courteous with all customer groups, having previous food service experience, being cooperative in interactions, treating customers with courtesy, respect, and compassion, being patient when responding to questions and answering questions appropriately, responding to requests in a timely manner, handling interruptions in a skillful way, maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor, striving to prevent/resolve customer concerns to the customer's satisfaction, being responsible for ongoing development of his/her work skills through the use of available resources (i.e.: inservices, formal educational programs, other work groups and on-the-job training), attending and participating in staff meetings and inservices and/or reviews documentation as required, assisting in the orientation of others and actively participating in mentoring, performing analytical and decision making functions with minimal supervision, recognizing and seeking assistance/consultation when appropriate, demonstrating an understanding of relative hospital and all-departmental policies and procedures including safety issues, possessing awareness of programs/services provided by hospital and where they are located.

Pay range: $18.74-$27.33
